Annual Meeting 2026

May 4th – 6th | Vila do Conde

"One Health – From Genes to Ecosystems”

Welcome to the BIODIV Annual Meeting 2026!

We are pleased to announce that the 7th BIODIV Meeting will be held in person from the 4th to the 6th of May 2026 at the Centro Municipal da Juventude in Vila do Conde. This year our theme is "One Health – From Genes to Ecosystems”.

The 2026 BIODIV Meeting will be set to address the most pressing threats challenging the safety of our shared planet. This Meeting will feature keynote speakers focusing on the three core pillars of One Health: Ecosystem Health, Animal Health, and Human Health.

Recognizing that One Health also encompasses mental well-being, the Meeting will additionally address the growing challenges surrounding mental health in academia, particularly among doctoral researchers.

By bringing together the BIODIV students with a broad range of scientific backgrounds —from genetics to biodiversity, from pathogens to evolution — and senior researchers, this year’s Annual Meeting aims to foster dialogue across disciplines and ask a central question: How can we work together for One Health?
