The University of Porto (UP) and the University of Lisbon (UL) have a joint Doctoral Programme in ‘Biodiversity, Genetics & Evolution’ (BIODIV), in the area of Biological Sciences.

The programme is organized by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), with the collaboration of the Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO-InBIO) and the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (cE3c).

The Directive Board is responsible for the students' selection process, the approval of the PhD theses after the first curricular year and the general coordination of the courses, seminars and other activities within the Programme.

The Directive Board will be assisted in all its academic competences defined in both Universities regulations by the Scientific Council of the PhD Program, formed by up to five professors/researchers from each university, including the members from the Directive Board.
