Organized by the two largest Portuguese universities - the University of Porto and the University of Lisbon - in partnership with CIBIO-InBIO (Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources) and cE3c (Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes), BIODIV is a doctoral programme funded by FCT (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology).

BIODIV aims to provide high quality scientific training on evolution, distribution and dynamics of biodiversity at distinct scales of biological organization: from organisms and populations to communities and ecosystems.

The programme delivers excellent teaching and research, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and provides an intellectually stimulating multicultural learning environment.
